The official height of a table tennis net is 3.05 cm, according to the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) rules for junior competition, and 5 cm for senior competition. There are numerous sources that recommend that be slightly lower or higher but that is the official height.

Why? Because if you’re tall and play tournament-level table tennis, there’s a lot of very valid reasons that you would prefer a lower net. Chinese Rule
According to Chinese rules, if no posts are used to support the net, it should be 5 1/2 inches (14 cm) high in the middle and 4 3/4 inches (12 cm) high at the sides.
If posts are used, they may be placed outside the ends of the table and as close as possible to each end line; but not nearer than 11 inches (27.94 cm) from each sideline or baseline or within 2 feet (60.96 cm) of each centerline.
The top of the net should be 5 1/2 inches (14 cm) above the playing surface at the center of the table. The bottom of the net should be 6 inches (15.24 cm) above the playing surface at its lowest point, but not more than 3/4 inch (1.91 cm) higher than 33 inches (83.82 cm).
Nets with a single cord, tape or strap are recommended; two-cord nets may also be used, provided that they are kept taut and in place by clips placed no more than 11 inches (27.94 cm) apart on each side rail when measured from the center of the net post to clip line.
